Sharing correspondence with Linsey Keats

WOW!  Marian, you are INCREDIBLE!  I love your website!  Who couldn’t get tears in their eyes under Holly with the music……I was looking for a sign up page for your blog posts.  You may have so many clients already, but have learned that opt-in boxes for people to sign up to get a free article/newsletters etc. is a great way to build up your email list to reach more people. So interesting, I have had a number of people (they know my love and dedication to animals) say “Pet Loss” and then others who say they don’t see there could be that great a need.  You have certainly said otherwise!  I am very keen to start my coaching/counseling and am planning to start by going out to visit vet offices with cards on Friday.  Its a matter of letting those who need your services that you are available…..how did you start getting clients? Also – I have thought SO much about the anticipation part of the loss and had thought of including work on that.  So many people say “How do you tell when?” etc and are so stressed at their pet suffering. I appreciate so very much you taking the time to send me such a wonderful message.  You are doing such important work, thank you.  I hope we can stay in touch – I need a mentor! Love and hugs, Linsey

Our culture doesn’t really validate the need for bereavement counseling for the loss of an animal companion. Yet, I have clients who have said this was the greatest loss of their lives and sometimes worse than the loss of a parent.   I have studied this and have a lot to share. Recently launched a website that has articles and stories, ideas, testimonials, poems, slide shows in memoriam and my services, explanations of how and why I do this work that you might find useful. check out: www.yourpetloss.com Especially check out: yourpetloss.com/the-final-gift-of-love/ for a piece about preparing for the inevitable impending loss and offering your pet your final gift of love, a peaceful death with dignity.   Awareness May/June 2010,”Saying Goodbye” carries an article I wrote with ideas and strategies for dealing with this grief. Check it out. I added a blog that is listed in the menu where you can comment and contact me that way or through linkedin.    Would love for you to add your skills and enter the world of grief counseling for pet loss. The animals and their owners need you. Fondly, Marian

Thank you so much for connecting.  Pet loss is one of the areas I would like to focus on in my grief coaching here in Vancouver.  I am known as the “Crazy dog lady” as I love dog rescue and now have 2 (from 4). Would love to hear more about your work and how you got into it. Blessings, Linsey
